What does a Better Bond Plan for Highline look like?

  • Complete comprehensive site and traffic studies for the usage of the Salmon Creek site, for Cascade Middle, first. Provide updated information including actual cost on the next bond.
  • Publish binding project scopes and timelines.
  • Account for State and Port funding.
  • Present smaller and phased alternatives (i.e. Place the remodel or rebuild of Chinook on another bond).
  • Guarantee independent public oversight.
  • Ensure all remodels and rebuilds provide equitable access to basic student resources such as libraries, appropriately sized gyms and fully functional kitchens.
  • Restore direct school board oversight over academics and spending.

What does a Better Levy Plan for Highline look like?

  • Set clear, age-appropriate proposals on technology use by grade band.
  • Audit all existing and proposed technology education contracts.
  • Establish districtwide device policies for personal cell phones and school issued devices.
  • Phase out 1:1 device policies in elementary and middle school.
  • Unbundle basic operational infrastructure and data security so that critical systems are fully funded.
  • Restore direct school board oversight over academics and spending.
